General Rules and Guidelines
Before diving into editing, take a moment to read the brief but crucial Rules.
- Neutrality
- Try keeping your writing unbiased and preface if something is debatable. Keep in mind this is not irrespective of the truth.
- Avoid expressing personal opinions (this is allowed most times if it's in a joking manner).
- Always cite your sources. Unsourced content may be subject to removal. (If you are unable to source, e.g., deleted or lost video, please add the template "More Citations Needed").
- Provide Detailed Information
- More details enhance the quality of the content. However, consider readability.
- Include comprehensive information about incidents, including full transcripts, descriptions, comments, etc. This ensures a complete understanding of events.
- This rule applies solely to Tony Chase. Refrain from delving into the personal lives of his family, friends, or professionals involved in helping him. Respect their privacy.
- NSFW Content
- Tony Chase has been associated with NSFW content. Document it here, but never upload or embed explicit material.
- Language Usage
- Cursing is acceptable in articles, but maintain professionalism and relevance.
New Pages
Before creating new pages, take a look below and make sure you understand these guidelines.
- Content Adequacy & Relevance
- Creating a page more every minute topic on Tony can be confusing and a misuse of resources. Try your best to include information in other articles before making a new one.
- Here's a checklist for making a new article. If none of these are true, then please feel free to make a new article:
- Is this content already in another article?
- Can this content be in another article?
- Is there enough content to warrant an article?
- Is this topic relevant enough to Tony Chase warrant its own article?
- If content is in another article, keep in mind you can make redirect pages that redirect a search to a certain section of another page. This can be done with:
#REDIRECT [[target page]]
- Categorization & Consistency
- Here's the template to assign a category:
[[Category:Example Category]]
- Categorizing helps organize this wiki
- Keep in mind that some Amboxes and Infoboxes automatically assign categories
- Here's the template to assign a category:
- Titling Pages
- Follow APA formatting rules when naming articles
- Try optimizing titles for search rather than style
Infoboxes, Amboxes, and Templates
How to insert a template
Infoboxes
Special message: |
An infobox is an informational box used to quickly and concisely present information about a character. While these are specifically designed to be open-ended, there are some general rules/guidelines with them:
- Keep it concise
- Infoboxes are meant to quickly present information, being overly wordy can nullify the whole point of an infobox
- Keep in mind there are only for characters/organizations
- While an infobox for other characters/organizations might exist in the future, there aren't any as of now.
Adding parameters
On the right of this, you can see parameters. This are variables that present information about a character.
The use of these are pretty self-explanatory, but one thing to keep in mind is to not leave parameters blank. If you do not need a parameter, disable it by unchecking it (pictured to the left)
Amboxes
Amboxes (article message boxes) are disclaimers that go on articles that are meant to quickly display warnings about articles or context about the information in them.
Here are all of the currently existing amboxes and their respective code:

Video Embeds
There are three different embed templates, ArchiveVideo, YoutubeVideo, and Html5media. Unforunately, the {{YoutubeVideo}}
template does not work. Luckily, the <youtube>
tag is functional, so if Youtube embeds are required, it is highly suggested that you use the <youtube>
tag instead of the {{YoutubeVideo}}
template.
Updated 10/24/2024
When it comes to embedding content from the tony chase archive, please use the template and if possible always use archived content instead of the YouTube alternative.
